Congratulations to Ann on her blue belt promotion this past Friday! Ann has been training at one world for while now and since she is one of our smaller athletes she is consistently rolling with bigger and stronger guys. She is one of the faces that you'll always see on the mat and she always gives 100% effort every time. Congratulations on a belt well deserved.

Congratulations to Jake for competing in his first Jiu-Jitsu tournament this past Sunday at the Abu Dhabi Pro West Coast tourney. He won his first match 6-2 but lost his second match 4-7. Jake had two more matches in the absolute division. He won his first 7-0 and lost his second on points against "Daddy Long Legs", Fookie's nemesis. Great job Jake. Congrats Ann! There are promotions and then there are promotions. I've been lucky to witness a few promotions in the art of BJJ and other martial arts. Ann's promotion is something that I have rarely seen. The culmination of hard work and patience. At least that's my take away.

Out of the last 1.5 years that I have been at One World, I have never heard Ann even mention the words "blue belt". What I saw in her was someone who never was there for the promotion, she was there for the art. Never turning down a chance to roll with anyone and always willing to roll with everyone no matter there skill level or weight. Congratulations Ann. You deserve it Ninja!
